About Gracious

The name Gracious comes from an Arabic translation meaning “God is gracious.” That meaning became the root of everything we create. Gracious is about recognizing growth, purpose, and the experiences that shape us while creating clothing people genuinely want to wear.

Gracious was founded by Janae in Detroit with the belief that clothing can have meaning without sacrificing style. Inspiration comes from real life, personal growth, nature, prayer, meditation, and the lessons we pick up along the way. Those experiences are transformed into pieces that allow people to connect with the meaning in their own way.

Our mission is built around comfort, community, and impact. Nature is often used throughout Gracious as a design framework because, just like people, nature grows, changes, goes through seasons, and begins again. Ten percent of every sale is donated, allowing every purchase to have an impact beyond the clothing.

Quality matters just as much as meaning. Before Gracious releases a product, samples can be worn and tested for six to eight months to make sure the fit, feel, construction, and quality are something we are comfortable putting our name on. Our pieces are manufactured overseas with intention, and we don't believe in rushing something just to have something new to sell. We'd rather make you wait for something worth wearing than rush something forgettable.

Gracious is for people who want their clothes to feel good, look good, and mean something. Some pieces are simple. Others are louder. But none are created without purpose.
